A letter from our valued partner LANXESS, supporting the use of Rely+On® Virkon® as a disinfectant for use on hard surfaces where transmission of pox viruses could be of any concern.

Subject: Rely+On® Virkon®

Efficacy claims: Monkey pox virus

Dear Customer,

We, Antec International Limited – A LANXESS Company, the manufacturer of Rely+On® Virkon® hereby confirm that the product is a disinfectant formulation, based on peroxygen based technology.

We can readily support the use of Rely+On® Virkon® as a disinfectant for use on hard surfaces where transmission of pox viruses could be of any concern.

Virus transmission on surfaces is an issue of concern in many instances, notably where contamination with infected body fluids may be present, and can present health risks for local operatives.

We have valid test data on the orthopox vaccine strain (smallpox), and Monkeypox is a very closely related entity within the family Poxviridae. Monkeypox virus indeed resides within the same Orthopox genus, as the tested entity.
