Each Kronofer tablet contains three layers, the Fast layer, the Normal layer and the Retard layer.

The Fast layer is the first layer containing Iron bisglycinate, a chelated form of iron, which ensures rapid absorption and high gastric tolerability.

The Normal layer is the second layer containing Iron sulphate which is released in its most bioavailable form in the duodenum. The presence of Vitamin C helps increase iron absorption.

The Retard layer is the third layer containing highly bioavailable Iron pyrophosphate to maximize absorption in the intestine.
